Poetry and Lyrics Movement ? The P.A.L.M! | Nimesema

There is a Poetry and Lyrics movement taking place in Zambia.

There a number of poetry groups, sessions and shows in Zambia taking place especially but not limited to Lusaka, and a lot of them are youth driven. The youth are taking charge of their own destiny and it all began with poetry and music.
People from all walks of life coming together to share poetry, music and ideas.
The youth of the country have noticed a need for quality entertainment they are starting businesses by giving people creative ways to relax. These youth are not only offering entertainment they are getting together to share ideas and developing through it all.

This is the most amazing coming together of youths that I have seen anywhere in the world.
Peer mentoring at it?s very best, as different young people from a wide range of social backgrounds come together to teach each other and to help each other not only grow but also develop in all areas of life.

Poetry & Lyrics Movement, Soul Tuesdays, The Poet?s forum, Bittersweet Poetry, and many more.

They are finding creative ways to help society and themselves by embarking on social responsible ventures, and improving the arts as a whole.

Zambia is know for many things such as Football, having beaten Italy 4-0 many years back, or recently having won the Africa Cup of nations.
it is also know for Chess, with Amon Simutowe having become the first Chess Grandmaster from Sub Saharan Africa.

But the time has come for Zambia?s great writers and poets to be known as they have taken it upon themselves to improve the country by what they do best and that is write and recite the contents of their heart.

From their frustrations to their spirituality, they are not just making metaphorical change they are inspiring and impacting an entire generation.
