Jason Verduzco - Doctoral Candidate at St. Louis University
A former quarterback for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Jason Verduzco maintains his ties to football through the Verduzco Quarterback Camp, an organization that he founded six years ago. As Chief Executive Officer of the camp, he creates the marketing materials and oversees enrollment. The camp accepts attendees by invitation, and has nurtured the development of a number of quarterbacks who went on to compete at the NCAA Division I level.
In the early 1990s, Mr. Verduzco played football for his alma mater. During that time, he received a Heisman Trophy nomination and became the second-leading passer at the university. He also ranked sixth in the Big Ten Conference as a leading passer. A strong player, he lettered all four years, and Football News selected him for an Honorable Mention among All-Americans in 1992. During his playing years, his team reached bowl games four times.
Mr. Verduzco graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and a concentration in Business. He remained at the university to complete studies in educational organization and leadership, earning a Master?s degree. Today, he is working toward his Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership at Saint Louis University. He expects to finish that degree program in 2014.
Over the years, Mr. Verduzco has completed a number of other training programs. He took a Dale Carnegie course in career development and graduated from the American Institute of Medical Sales, where he focused on orthopedics and trauma.?
Outside of professional and academic endeavors, Jason Verduzco enjoys traveling abroad. He has visited France, the United Kingdom, and Italy, where he spent a week taking a Chianti cooking class.
